Girls Night Out: Ramen and cakelets (Part 2)

So for the dessert part of the night, we wanted to go somewhere a little cozier. But still in the North York area. The place we originally wanted to go to was closed, so we went to Capriccio instead.

We've never been there, so we didn't know what to expect. But the place itself was like a small European tea parlour...if Europeans had tea parlours. They also offer free wi-fi so it makes a pretty study/work spot.

Their cakes are averagely priced. The individual cakes range for $3-6 dollars, depending on type and size of the cakes. We got 4 individual cakes - two of the Red Velvet Cheesecake, the Raspberry Tart, and Chocolate Cupcake.

The chocolate cupcake was very sweet and dense in its chocolateness. So, unless you LOVE chocolate... you might not be able to finish it. In my opinion, the Red Velvet Cheesecake was the best out of the 3 cakes we tried. It wasn't too sweet, the cheesecake layer was light and soft and still kept in all that delicious cheesecake flavour. The bottom was a red velvet cake layer which may not be as dense as some people like their red velvet, but I really have nothing to complain about it. I loved that the red velvet didn't overpower the cheesecake in flavour or texture. The whole thing was a win for me. It didn't blow my socks off like Sebastian's cheesecakes, but I haven't found a red velvet cheesecake that's beat this yet. So in the meantime, I know that there's this place if I ever get a craving for red velvet cheesecakes

Oh! We also got the Apple Spice Tea. The small and the large are both $1.60. So obviously, we got larges ;)

Of course, the Red Velvet Cheesecake :) ($4.50)
